Stainless Steel – Made to Last

Durable and Sustainable
Stainless steel is known for corrosion-resistance, high-strength, and aesthetics which makes it a great metal choice for appliances, buildings, architecture, medical applications, and food service industries. But did you know that stainless steel is also fully recyclable, has a low life-cycle cost, and boasts excellent green credentials?

What makes stainless steel alloy a good environmental choice?
According to the Specialty Steel Industry of North America, the most environmentally friendly materials are corrosion resistant and durable. Metals with high-recycled content and recapture rates increase service life. Being able to use a product longer reduces the use of natural resources, ultimately resulting in less environmental harm.

Since the chromium in stainless steel has an affinity with oxygen, a film of chromium oxide forms on the surface of the steel at a molecular level. Chromium is the alloying element that gives stainless steel its impeccable corrosion resistant characteristic, the most recognizable aspect of stainless steel. Stainless steel can be used for years and will remain stainless.
